About Festival of Lights

Edmonds Festival of Lights is a community event for children of all ages to create a variety of Christmas tokens such as:

  • Decorate a Sugar cookie.
  • Make a bookmark.
  • Decorate a paper bag for all your goodies.

There will be many booths with a different activity such as face painting and tattoos.

The most important booth is a visit with Santa Claus and getting a candy cane from Mrs. Claus.

Don’t forget to start with a passport – get a stamp from each booth you visit that are listed on the passport.

By the end of the day you bring your passport outside and exchange it for a glowing bracelet.

If you can stay till after 5:00 fill in the passport and your name could be drawn for an opportunity to turn on the huge Christmas Tree lights with the Mayor of Burnaby, the Honorable Mayor Mike Hurley.

There will be plenty of entertainment and music by:

  • Santa’s Little Helpers
  • The Melodaires Choir

You can enjoy some jugglers, stilt-walkers, flashy hoola-hoops and a variety of people in Christmas themed costumes.

We didn’t forget to have plenty of food available for the occasion: Hot Dogs by the Burnaby Fire Fighters!
